Green Building

At Advance Concept we recognize the importance of engaging in green building practices. As the construction industry moves towards new sustainability standards, we are taking the initiative to be at the forefront of building a better tomorrow. Our team has the knowledge, experience and creativity to take on projects seeking LEED, Build Green NM, and ENERGY STAR certifications.  Below are brief descriptions of these programs:

 

LEADERSHIP IN ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).  It provides third-party verification that a building or community was designed and constructed using sustainable strategies.  LEED is intended to provide building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. LEED certification can be applied to residential, retail, institutional, educational, hospitality and commercial buildings. BUILD GREEN NM ~ Advance Concept is also involved with Build Green NM.  Founded in 2006 by the Home Builders Association of Central NM (HBA CNM), the Build Green NM program encourages local builders to take a sustainable approach to home building.  It relies on third-party verification to ensure that projects adhere to guidelines based on the ANSI National Green Building Standard.  Homes can achieve a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Emerald certified designation, depending on the amount of points accrued.  At the higher levels of certification, homes may qualify for substantial state tax credits.  For more information on the Build Green NM certification process, please visit www.buildgreennm.com, or schedule a meeting with one of our knowledgeable team members.

 

ENERGY STAR ~ Advance Concept is a proud ENERGY STAR partner. The ENERGY STAR program is a joint effort between the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Department of Energy.  Its purpose is to help protect the environment by promoting energy efficient products and practices.  The ENERGY STAR logo is commonly seen on household appliances that meet the strict energy efficiency standards set by the EPA and the US Department of Energy, and now entire homes can receive the ENERGY STAR label.  Big energy savings, federal tax credits and added resale value are just some advantages.
